City leaders in Vallejo held an emergency meeting Monday following the latest in a series of violent attacks in the last week. He is the father of a 17-year-old suspect who the district attorney's office says will be charged as an adult in the beating of a city worker last week. "Right now, there's no information indicating that the city employee's assault has any connection with the murder," said Vallejo Police Lt. Abel Tenorio. [3]

Police say there is no connection between the homicide and the beating, adding it was just an odd twist and another sadness for the family. [4]
