If you love potatoes this is the place to be. Potatopia is a fairly new fast food restaurant located at the Yonge Sheppard Centre, and they know how to do potatoes right.
Judging from BlogTo posts this restaurant looked like a healthy alternative to some of the other options around the area. With many office locations at Yonge & Sheppard and people looking for healthy but delicious options this place is ideal.
Walking into the food court we see the familiar KFC, A&W and other fast food places which might not always be attractive when you are health conscious.
We chose the popular Smashtopia for tasting from the menu and a custom vegetarian order.
Red skin potatoes, chicken, scallions, garlic, cilantro, cheddar, asiago parmesan blend and roasted pepper aioli. Yumm… My favorite part about the Smashtopia is the burst of freshness in every bite. It’s a perfect blend of herbs mixed in with sauces.
This restaurant chain is inspired by a Potatopia in the U.S., that was started by Allen Dikker. He believed that introducing potatoes with perfect sauces and fresh ingredients would allow a variety of audience to enjoy it. This couldn’t be more true for Canadians since we already love the Poutine.
The owners of this location opened the very first in Toronto. Canadians are familiar with potatoes being mainly served as French Fries or Poutine so this is a fresh take on a favorite vegetable for many. What’s great about this place is you also get to create a meal to your liking.
Whether it’s a hearty meal with meat or something more vegetarian, there are plenty of options for everyone.
Once you’ve had your meal we recommend trying their delicious fresh cookies for dessert too.
