Sad Long Distance Relationship Quote

Yup it’s true, despite having the fierce love for each other you can’t help but feel sad and lonely when that person is not around you.

Dedicated to today’s post are sad long distance relationship quotes that many of us can relate to. After all, you’re allowed to be sad when that special someone just isn’t around you no matter how strong you try to be.

“Morning without you is dwindled dawn.” – Emily Dickinson

Emily Dickinson captures the moment beautifully that many lovers feel when waking up in an empty bed. The feeling of waking up and the first sight is the person you love the most can be a beautiful feeling. Even more satisfying can be the time you spend together in the morning before hurrying to your busy day.

It’s not surprising that Emily Dickinson would write this quote considering for much of her life she had no loving partner. Although in the history books it hints at Emily having relationships with her teacher there is no proof of it. It was confirmed that she did have a relationship with Otis Phillips Lord an elderly Judge she met later in life. This we would consider a late-life relationship for her.

“I look at all my friends who have their loved ones close to them. I am the only one who has a long distance relationship. How I wish you lived close by so I could be with you!” – David King

Doesn’t it suck when you’re unlucky/lucky enough to fall in love with someone who can’t be close to you? Of all the people in the world it has to be the one living away from you.

Often times it’s said that the reason we love someone so far is away is because we can’t have them in the first place.

We desire the thing that is out of reach and furthest away from us. When was the last time you desired someone who lived in the same house as you? Was the yearning and desire as strong as it would’ve been if they lived 300miles away?

It’s a different feeling to be in love with someone far away.

Some say that it’s a personality trait where we desire the feeling of wanting someone rather than having the person being right here next to us. Now, I know it’s probably not true for some, but for many it’s an emotion we can grow fond of.

“The sky has lost its color, the sun has turned to gray, at least that’s how it feels to me, whenever you’re away.” – Evan and Jaron, The Distance

Not as high profiled as the previous two quotes but I thought this is a good way to end it off. Simplest forms of rhymes can often point straight to our hearts. Describing exactly what we feel be it in the form of music, poetry or just simple stories. Evan and Jaron are not as mainstream as most music artists but they said it very well.

That’s it for today on sad long distance relationship quotes. Catch you next time!
